Patriotism

Patriotism
The purposes of this society shall be to promote patriotism; the celebration of patriotic anniversaries; teaching and emphasizing the heroic deeds of the civil, military, and naval life of those who molded this Government between the close of the American Revolution and the close of the War of 1812; and to urge Congress to compile and publish authentic records of men in civil, military, and naval service from 1784 to 1815, inclusive.

troopsAt present our nation has troops engaged in military actions in several locations. We need to show our support to them and recognize the contributions they are making to maintain our freedom. That must occur whatever our political preferences are. Whatever we can do show our appreciation, be it care packages, phone cards, or letters, will show them that we are proud of their service. Recently all of the Services have authorized the N.S.U.S. D. 1812 ROTC and JROTC medals for wear by the students in those programs.  The awards offer excellent opportunities to let the cadets know that we support and reward their patriotic efforts.
